Use of Projectors in Churches

Churches of all denominations are increasingly turning to projectors to help them as part of the services. The most common application for a projector in the church is to be used as a means of displaying words to hymns usually on a big screen around 6 to 8 foot wide. Traditionally Overhead projectors have been used for this purpose but increasingly now Data Projectors and laptops are the way forward for many churches.

Nowadays it is not uncommon to find a ceiling mounted projector in a church which is aligned to a wall or ceiling mounted screen as projectors become a fixed part of the worship. The overall setup is not remarkably different to any other installation - for example in a boardroom. The projector will typically be mounted from the ceiling or wall and connections will be provided for both computer and video use. A lot of churches already have sound systems installed and it is quite common for the projector to be linked into this existing system so that when a video is shown there is an audio feed in place.

As with any installation, but even more so, tidyness and aesthetics are extremely important. When we install a projector in a church, our engineers are always conscious of preserving the fabric of the building and ensuring that the projector is installed in such a way that it helps with the worship rather than distracts from it.

E Flat Minor have installed a number of projectors in churches throughout the UK and unlike a typically meeting room installation, every church is different and as such we take very great care to ensure we are providing the right solution. For this reason, more than ever, we encourage churches to invite us to carry out a site survey to discuss their needs and ensure that we propose a solution which not only works for them but also fits in with the style and ethos of the church.
